Guitar lessons: Notes on the first string

Now lets play the notes on the first string of the guitar.
Step 1. Play the open first string E.
Step 2. Put your first finger (index finger) on the first fret. Now play the first string.
This is an F note. Make sure your finger is close to the fret and use the tip to depress the string.
Step 3. Put your third finger (ring finger) on the third fret. Now play the first string.
This is an G note. Make sure your finger is close to the fret and use the tip to depress the string.
